Bloomingdale Garden Club 2026 Annual Flower & Plant Sale
Friday, May 8th • Noon to 6 PM and Saturday, May 9th • 9 AM to 3 PM Our sale will feature professionally-grown annuals in flats, 4” & 6” pots, hanging baskets, vegetables and herbs, accessory plants, grasses, tropicals, and perennials from members’ gardens. We will also have a Master Gardener Help Desk, raffles, and gently-used garden items for sale. Cash, check, and credit cards are accepted ($2 service fee is charge for credit card use). This organization helps people discover how easy it can be to make a meaningful difference for our kids, our environment, and our future. DuPage Monarch and Pollinator Project and Waystations
On June speaker is Kim White who will be updating our group on the DuPage Monarch and Pollinator Project, and Waystations. Kim spent 19 years associated with Brookfield Zoo’s Education Department as both a volunteer and an employee, teaching school groups. She is a naturalist, a former co-steward for the DuPage County Forest Preserve, education coordinator for the DuPage Monarch Project and avid gardener for both food production and habitat creation. Don’t Squash That Bug!
Our July speaker, Jim Rowan, will be presenting “Don’t Squash That Bug!”. We will learn all about the insects and spiders, how to distinguish them and separate some of the “good guys” from the “bad guys.” Jim has a degree in natural science from Northeastern Illinois University and has been associated with North Park Village Nature Center in Chicago and the Ft. Dearborn Audubon Society. He has lectured to many organizations and schools over the past 25 years.
