Fabyan Japanese Garden, Geneva
The Japanese Tea Garden at Fabyan is a tranquil oasis in the middle of the forest preserve, where history and nature meet. George Fabyan commissioned the building of the garden in 1909, shortly after serving as a military diplomat for President Roosevelt. It was designed by Japanese architect Taro Otsuka. Our July event will be on Tuesday, July 16 at Springfield Park, located at 269 Springfield Drive. It is beautiful 40 acre park which includes 20 acres of wetlands and a one-mile walking path and bridge. We will meet at the picnic pavilion from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm for a potluck picnic. Location: 622 Town Rd., West Chicago. Park in the lot directly across from the entrance. Cross the street and enter the Garden on the blacktop to the LEFT of the building. IDENTIFY and bag your perennials for the 2025 Flower & Plant Sale and bring them to our Perennial Potting Party on Saturday, May 3rd (10 AM to 2 PM) at the Bloomingdale Park District Maintenance Building and we will pot everything for the sale. You may recall that the past few years we have donated items to the West Suburban Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The generosity of our members is always amazing!
